Legal Changelog

Material changes to the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, DMCA process, and other legal pages are recorded here. Non-material wording cleanups (typos, grammar, dead links) are not announced.

This page is intentionally not linked from the main navigation. It serves as a durable audit trail accessible from the legal pages themselves and from this URL directly.

Terms

Governing law jurisdiction in Terms § 12 updated from Delaware to Texas to match the operator's state of residence. No other Terms wording changed.

Site

Comprehensive legal-safety hardening: added universal "Estimates only" disclaimers to every tool page (financial / health / general variants); added new /dmca/, /data-sources/, and /legal-changelog/ pages; added trademark non-affiliation footer to every /vs/, /alternative-to/, and /compare/ page; hardened Terms of Service with explicit Not-Professional-Advice + Acceptable Use + Governing Law (initially Delaware, revised to Texas on 2026-05-18) + Indemnification clauses; completed Privacy Policy gaps including CCPA / CPRA non-sale statement, GDPR readiness, EU/UK rights enumeration, children-under-13 carve-out, and a cookie inventory table.

Privacy

Disclosed Microsoft Clarity as a third-party analytics tool used site-wide; added the explicit clarity('set','mask','all') call so input content cannot be captured even if Microsoft changes the default. Disclosed the two server endpoints (/api/og-fetch, /api/embed-ping) and their narrow purpose.

Site

Initial Terms of Service and Privacy Policy published at site launch. No user accounts, no email collection, no tool inputs transmitted to any server.

  • For regulators / counsel: This page is the authoritative record of when material legal-policy changes were made. The corresponding diffs are available in the site's public Git history.
  • For us (the operators): Each new material edit to Terms / Privacy / DMCA must add a row here as part of the same change. The legal-pages footer disclaimer on each page links back to this changelog.
